Our school band will perform this Friday with Barefield N.S. and Ennis N.S. at 1pm. A few of our famous Irish Traditional musician friends will be joining us too!
Well done to the boys and girls who made their First Holy Communion on Saturday last. A special "thank you" to everyone involved in preparing the children for this special day and to everyone who helped in the organisation of the ceremony. Visit our Gallery for more pictures of the day.
Today some members of our Green Schools Committee travelled to Galway to receive our 5th Green Flag for Biodiversity. Well done to the entire Green Schools Committee and to all staff and pupils for their ongoing hard work and participation. We were delighted to collect our flag and look forward to flying it proudly in front of our school. What an exciting day!
We were delighted to welcome representatives from the Clare County Council, Ann Cronin and Gerald Fogarty yesterday to launch Bike Week 2016 which will be held from 11th to the 19th June. Special guests also included James Murrihy of the Clare Sports Parnership, Laurie Ryan of the Clare Ladies Football team, Chloe Morey of Clare camogie and All Ireland League champions Eoin Cleary and David Reidy. Eoin plays for the Clare football team and David, who plays for the Clare hurlers and is also a past pupil of Scoil Chríost Rí. We have a number of children who cycle to school at Scoil Chríost Rí and this is a great initiative to encourage more children to do so.
Through the RECIPE project funding we had 4 Portuguese teachers in our school job-shadowing. They had a great experience in our school watching the different classes doing Irish, Literacy Lift off, Maths Recovery, Accelerated Reader, Hurling, a guided historical tour of Dromoland Castle and a musical experience at Seinn na Nóg. |
