Today was Anne Tiernan's final day teaching in Scoil Chríost Rí. She has made a huge contribution to the school and community during her time here and we are very sad to see her go! We wish Anne all the best for her retirement. We hope everyone has a safe and restful summer holiday. School will re-open on Wednesday 31st August. We were delighted to welcome David Reidy to our assembly today and he gave out the awards to students. Children were rewarded for achievements in sport, attendance, good citizenship among other categories. Our school rock band performed to finish the event!
Well done to the Class of 2016 who had their Graduation Night tonight. We wish you the best in all that you do in the future and hope you come back to visit us! Below our the "Best Bits" of your time in Scoil Chríost Rí that was shown at the ceremony this evening. Enjoy! Senior Infants Class Blog.
We had a super day yesterday for our Sports Day. We were delighted to have the Bumbleance with us for the morning and would like to say a huge thank you to Tony and Mary Heffernan who took the time to tell our students about the work that they do. Click here to find out more about the Bumbleance. We had a variety of activities going on around the school for the day AND we were lucky that the Parents Association were on hand to keep us fueled for the day as they manned the BBQ!! We are very grateful to Garda Albert Hardiman who came to present the medals to the winners of the races at the end of the day also. Visit our Gallery for more pictures of what was a very enjoyable day!
Active Week was launched this morning by Clare footballer Joe Hayes. The entire school walked a mile to kick off the week! It is also Go Green day as we show our support for the Irish Soccer team who play their first match of the Euros today. Visit our Active Schools Blog and stay tuned for more photos during the week!
We had a wonderful day again this year for our Skipathon fundraiser! Well done to the boys and girls who took part, to the two Mr Griffins for all of their hard work and of course, a special thank you to all the people who contributed to this years fundraiser. As always your support is greatly appreciated. Below are a few clips from the day. The CLDC Homework Club which was set up for the 3rd term in the school had their end of year awards this week. The homework club has been a great success and is a brilliant resource to have for the students of Scoil Chríost Rí. Pictured below are the Junior and Senior groups with their end of year certificates. Well done to all involved!
