Next, we conducted a biodiversity audit. We recorded flora (plants and trees) and fauna (animals, birds, insects) in the forest. Some of the flora we saw were hawthorn, blackthorn, ash, alder, ivy, holly, brambles, ferns, buttercups, daisies, bluebells.
Then we examined creatures that live in a pond. We saw tadpoles, water beetles, pond skaters and newts.
Finally, we collected bugs in the organic garden and examined them under magnifying glasses. We made sure to release all the creatures back where we had found them.
