Following on from this, an award ceremony was held today to congratulate all the students who made such an effort in collecting money on behalf of the school. Well done to Mr Harrison and everyone involved!
Last Thursday, our Skipathon was held during the Active Week at school. Students, parents and the community as a whole were very generous in their support of our fundraising efforts as always and this year over €3,500 was raised! This money goes towards important resources for the school and we are extremely grateful for your continued support!

Members of our senior band took part in the Fleadh Nua yesterday; providing onlookers with great entertainment for an hour! Well done to the teachers and staff who helped on the day and most of all, well done to the children involved who behaved so well and performed so beautifully.
Special thanks to our guests, Micheal O' Rathlaig and Frank Whelan who performed with us! Our Model Farm Last evening our school was represented at the LEGO Showcase event held at the Temple Gate Hotel in Ennis. Schools from around Clare who use state of the art LEGO We Do Education packs attended and they presented projects that they have worked tirelessly on over the last number of weeks. Our team, Gabriel Gajda, Hellen Gyamfi, Derick Sholarin, Alex Akujobi and Dominik Holub from Mr. Harisson's 5th/6th Class represented the school superbly well on the night. They displayed their project, explained their ideas and showed how they were able to make their LEGO come to life using LEGO Computer Technology. Our project focused on 'Our Model Farm'. I have added some photos of the ocassion below. We hope to introduce LEGO to more children here at the school in the coming years as children love it and it is a great way to introduce new ideas to children and give them a better idea of the world around them. Senior Infants had great fun today taking part in Speed Cup Stacking; one of many events being held at the school this week as part of Active Week. After collecting their cups, they had to stack them up to make a castle with their partner!
Congratulations and well done to Mrs. Tiernan's and Ms. Behan's Second Classes on making their First Holy Communion today. You all looked beautiful and the ceremony was very special. We hope that you all had a wonderful day!
Well done to all the staff and pupils who took part in our clean-up day today. Junior Infants and Senior infants picked up rubbish in the infant yard and school garden. First Class cleaned the senior yard and pitch. Children from Second Class to Fifth Class collected litter outside the school grounds, in the memorial garden and in the nearby housing estate. Sixth Class will take part in a river clean up next month. Great work everyone!
On Friday last the school welcomed Tánaiste Joan Burton to the Cloughleigh area. The Tánaiste was on a day long visit to Ennis and chose our school to be part of her busy schedule. We were delighted and honoured to welcome the Tánaiste and made her feel very welcome during her visit with our school band performing for her on the day. She was joined by local Labour TD Michael Mc Namara amongst others. Please view our slideshow and video capturing a few of the day's events.
